PCB mounting
What is a PCB assembly?
When you have printed circuit boards assembled, all components are placed on the printed circuit board. This process consists of various parts. The parts are often supplied in bulk and must be prepared to be placed on the printed circuit board. In this way, the components meet the specific requirements of the end product. Preparing components is also called prepping the components. When prepping is complete, the components are ready to be mounted on the print site. Mounting on the printed circuit board has PCB mounting. PCBA stands for Printed Circuit Board Assembly and is the final printed circuit board with components mounted on it. Assembling is assembling, ie applying components to the printed circuit board.
How to assemble a PCB?
Having a PCB mounted can be done by two methods. The Trough Hole Technology (THT) and Surface Mount Technology (SMT). With THT, all components are placed on the printed circuit board by means of holes in the printed circuit board. Two holes are drilled in the flow path of a component. The component is then placed on the printed circuit board with pins. The component ensures that the current path is not interrupted. With Surface Mount Technology (SMT), parts are fixedly mounted on the PCB. The components, also called a Surface Mount Device (SMD), are smaller than components mounted by THT assembly. The characteristic of an SMD is that it is soldered directly onto the printed circuit board.
Have your PCB assembled by Contecto
If you want to have your PCB assembled, Contecto is your partner. Whether you opt for the THT or SMT method or another method, Contecto makes it possible. Your PCB assembly is carried out by professional experts who have experience and expertise. This can be a Prototype PCB of which you only need one, but small-scale series production is also possible. If a standard available PCB is not enough, it is also possible to have a PCB custom designed.
